盆景画とは「盆栽」と「風景」をミックスし絵画として表現されたものです。
江戸時代、浮世絵師 歌川国芳の門人 歌川芳重によって描かれた「東海道五十三駅鉢山図会」は盆景画として代表的な作品の1つになります。
「都市世界鉢山図絵」は、もし現代に浮世絵師歌川一派が生きていたら盆景をどのように表現するのだろうかと想像し生まれました。私、歌川穣太郎が表現する盆景画 世界都市鉢山図絵をどうぞお楽しみください。

Bonkei-ga is a type of painting that mixes bonsai and landscape image in a single painting. One of the most representative examples of Bonkei-ga painting is “Tokaido 53-Eki Hachiyama-Zue” painted by Utagawa Yoshishige, a student of Ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi from the Edo period. This “Hachiyama in the Urban World” was born from my imagination of how the Ukiyo-e school of artists, the Utagawa School, would have expressed Bonkei-ga if they were alive today. I, Jotaro Utagawa, would like to invite you to enjoy this Bonkei-ga titled “Urban World Hachiyama Zue”.
